What a pedigree in Nubian history, specifically in the Kastdemur's herd! We picked up a few of these straws from the RDR herd when we purchased GCH RDR Showtime Minerva 4*M, and am so excited to announce she's been successfully bred to him.
Shadow's dam Mardi Gras is really an example of powerhouse dam lines. Mardi Gras herself was a notable doe as the 2nd placing intermediate kid at the 2008 National Show, 2nd place/3rd udder milking yearling in 2009 and 4th place five to six year old in 2014 she has certainly made a name for herself. Not only has she done well, she has produced several sons who have advanced a few herds across the country and her daughter SGCH Redwood Hills Atlas Carnival 5*M EX90 has been competitive on the west coast. Mardia Gras dam Misha was the 1st place/1st udder two year old in 2008, and her dam Mystere was the 2004 2nd place junior kid, 2005 2nd place senior yearling, 2006 17th place two year old and 2008 6th place/3rd udder four year old in addition to winning the High 305 Butterfat award! If that wasn't enough, she is also the full sibling to two extremely influential sires: +*B SG Kastdemur's Monte Carlo and the 2016 National Show premier sire ++*B SGCH Kastdemur's Most Wanted EX90. Misha's sire King of the Hill is also the 2008 premier sire. Her sire's side isn't slacking with her sire being a son of the 2001 national champion and best udder winner, 2002 reserve national champion and best udder winner GCH Kastdemur's Aubree 3*M EX92.
On both sides of this pedigree you'll find the infamous ++*B SG Kastdemur's Full Service who has 19 superior genetics and 20 permanent champion offspring. Just some of his offspring include: SGCH Kastdemur's Santa Cruz 10*M EX92 the 2006 1st place/2nd udder four year old and 2005 3rd place/3rd udder three year old and High 305 Butterfat winner; SGCH Kastdemur's Audacity 4*M EX91 the 2003 national junior champion, 2004 8th place two year old, 2005 4th place three year old, 2006 7th place four year old and the dam of two-time national champion SGCH Kastdemur's Temerity 5*M EX93; SGCH Kastdemur's Terravista 1*M EX92 the 2003 2nd place junior kid, 2004 national reserve junior champion, 2005 7th place two year old and 2006 3rd place/2nd udder three year old; and SGCH Sweet-Spring PBC Berimargarita 1*M EX92. He is also the sire of Mystere, Monte Carlo and Most Wanted. It's an overwhelming list, but he isn't far behind many national champions over the last several years and his left his mark on the breed. These does have also withstood the test of time not just placing once at a national show, but several times.
To sum of this pedigree, it is filled with Nubian National Show history between national champions, proven and premier sires and plenty of does that topped their national show class. There is even some production award winners to top that off! We are excited to see what Shadow Man can add to our herd.
